NWF ECO Crawler
The NWF EcoCrawler adds an additional selectable 2.57:1 low-range reduction between your transmission and transfer case, giving your Toyota significantly more control and gearing off-road while retaining normal 1:1 operation when the EcoCrawler is in high range.
Suspension upgrades
From Dobinsons high quality shock absorbers and springs to PSR weld-in long arm and shock tower upgrades, we set up your suspension for the weight you carry and the terrain you drive. Every install is fitted and checked in our shed, so it rides right on the road and works hard off it.

NWF ECO Crawler
The ECO Crawler bolts in between your transmission and transfer case and adds a second, selectable low range. Leave it in high and the vehicle drives exactly as it did. Pull it into low and you get your normal low range ratio. Pull it into low low for crawler mode. This gives you the controlled gearing you need to complete steep climbs, descents and rock work.
It is built by Northwest Fabworks in Canada around Toyota's VF chain-drive transfer case, and AV Fab supplies and fits it here in Australia.

Which ECO Crawler fits your vehicle?
The right kit depends on which side your transfer case drops and how it shifts. Pick the closest match.
Right hand drop
For Hilux models built from 08/1997 to 01/2005. These transfer cases are right-hand drop and forward shift, in either J shift or push-button hybrid shift.
NWF supplies new shift rails to convert a forward J shift case to top shift. A hybrid shift case can be the donor, but cannot be the case that sits behind the ECO Crawler.
Left hand drop
For Hilux, FJ Cruiser and Fortuner models from 02/2005 to now. These VF transfer cases are left-hand drop and came in forward-shift, top-shift and electric-shift versions.
The transfer case fitted behind the ECO Crawler must be top shift or electric shift.
Left hand drop, Torsen
For LandCruiser Prado J120 and J150 models from 09/2002 to now with a Torsen centre differential in the VF transfer case.
The Torsen case behind the ECO Crawler must be top shift or electric shift. A Torsen case cannot be used as the donor for the planetary gearset.
Conversion to right hand drop
For newer engine and transmission swaps into older Toyotas. It lets you run a right-hand-drop transfer case behind a transmission that was built for a left-hand-drop case, so the original driveline layout stays.
You need the left-hand-drop VF case that matched the newer transmission as the donor. NWF supplies the shift rails to convert the right-hand-drop case to top shift.

What the install involves
- The setup uses two VF chain-drive transfer cases: yours, and a donor case that gives up its planetary gearset to the ECO Crawler housing.
- The ECO Crawler connects straight to your transfer case through the NWF main shaft. No separate splined coupler.
- The transfer case moves back about 165 mm, so tailshafts normally need to be modified. We measure after the box is in.
- Torsen-type transfer cases cannot be used as the donor, and one-touch 2WD–4WD shifters are not compatible.
- Left-hand-drop cases from 6-speed manuals need the input retainer shortened.

PSR Performance Suspension Racing
PSR makes weld-in long arms, shock towers and chassis bracing upgrades for four wheel drives that need more travel, stronger mounting points and a stiffer chassis. AV Fab supplies and fits their range, with all the welding done in our shed.
